Yes, all men have the right to be free. This right was given to them by God, and should not be taken away by man or government. Freedom was given to us by God. God gave Adam and Eve the choice staying in a perfect garden and enjoying this fellowship, or eating the fruit and dying Today we have the same choice: Deuteronomy 30:15 tells us, “See, I have set before thee this day life and good, and death and evil;” Unfortunately, we have all chosen the latter, because of the sin nature imposed on us by Adam’s choice.
However, Jesus came to restore liberty to us. In Luke 4:18, Jesus said, “The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me... to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,”. God has restored liberty to us with the salvation that can be found in Christ. Galatians 5:1 states that we should “Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.” God has called us to Liberty. This liberty applies to light in the secular sector as well. In 1 Corinthians 7, Paul advises those who are saved being servants to other men to obey their masters, but, if they have the opportunity to become free then they should use it. Paul was saying that christian servants should obey the law of the land (Romans 13), even if it includes slavery, but, if they have the opportunity to become free, they should use it.
